A line up of events were conducted at NCS Primary Wing to imbibe the essence and spirit of Martyr’s Day amongst the future generation. The day started with a special assembly by children of Class II – a play enriched with songs, dances, narrations and a tableau display, by almost 150 children, depicted the life story of brave martyrs Capt Anuj Nayyar, Capt Vikram Batra and Maj Shaitan Singh.
A Sadbhavna Walk, replete with passionate slogans and patriotic songs, at Nausena Baugh, saw a participation of over 600 children of Classes 3, 4 and 5. Cmde KS Noor, Vice Chairman, NCS flagged off the walk, as the little ones of Class II danced to the reverberating notes of Áe Watan Mere’. The fervour and zeal displayed by the children encouraged spectators to join in the cheering and the chanting.
Parallely, ‘Jhanki Hindustan Ki’, a street play by the Dance and Dramatics Clubs on the theme of National Integration, was enacted at Nausena Baugh. The rich and diverse cultural heritage of our country, portrayed through traditional dances of East, West, North and South regions of the country, demonstrated the verve of emotions that children carry in their hearts. 240 children participated in the event.
The series of events culminated to the beats of ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’ echoing through the grounds, the pride and enthusiasm in the voices of the children raising goose bumps. At 11 am the entire school observed two minutes silence to commemorate and express our gratitude towards the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the country.
