Record loading of 544 tonnes of Mangoes in a Single Kisan Rail
More than 6000 tonnes of mangoes, loaded at Vizianagaram to Adarsh Nagar till date
19 Kisan trains run from Vizianagaram since 17th April
Surpassing its earlier records, Waltair Division has again created a record of parcel loading of 544 Tonnes of Mangoes in a Single Kisan Rail on dt.22-05-2021 from Vizianagaram Railway station to Adarsh Nagar. It is ever highest record parcel loading in a single day in the history of East Coast Railway.
Waltair Division continues its efforts for the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities during the pandemic. Despite odd situations, the division is running parcel special trains and Kisan special trains to boost income to the farm sector, by providing hassle-free, safe and speedy transport services of agricultural produce.
Kisan rail special trains started from Vizianagaram from 17th April-2020 for transportation of Mangoes. Till today 19 Kisan rail special trains were run by Waltair Division and transported more than 6000 tonns of mangoes to Delhi.
Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava appreciated the relentless efforts of the staff for continuing the record performance. DRM appealed to the farmers, traders and the exporters to utilize the opportunity of Kisan Rail Special trains for safe and speedy transportation of the fruit stocks.
