PreviousVizagvision SEVERAL SAFETY WORKS CARRIED OUT IN SINGLE BLOCK Waltair Division of East Coast Railway planned several safety related modernization works between Vizianagaram- Srikakulam Road in the mainline in a single block. A perfect plan of execution was prepared to complete the safety works in single slot of traffic cum power block.Limited Height Subways (LHS) were constructed between Korukonda-Vizianagaram and Dusi-Ponduru section by cut and cover method. Divisional Railway Manager Shri Anup Kumar Sathpathy personally monitored the entire works which was done in record time of 5 hours. Sr. Divisional Engineer (Coordination) Shri Pradeep Yadav and Sr, Divisional Engineer ( East ) Shri Rajiv Kumar executed the works at two locations, Apart from LHS construction Track Slewing and track modernization works were carried at different locations in this section.
The LHS works were accomplished using minimum number of workers and heavy machinery like hydraulic-operated telescopic cranes of 400 tonne, 350 tonne capacity cranes along with 360 tonne & 200 tonne excavators with all social distancing norms due to COVID-19.People expressed happiness over the completion of the subways, which was a long-pending demand of the people living in this area that provides easy access for the road users. -
