Bhoomi Puja for NCC Cadets Accommodation Done at Tirupati
Bhoomi Puja for construction of NCC Cadets Accommodation was done at NCC Nagar, Tirupati in the presence of Dr Ramachandra Naidu Galla, Chairman Amara Raja Group & Air Commodore VM Reddy Deputy Director General Andhra & Telangana NCC Directorate today. The cadet living accommodation in NCC Nagar is being constructed over an area of 2500 sqft at an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakhs. The project is being magnanimously undertaken under the aegis of the Rajanna Foundation, the CSR arm of the Amara Raja Group. Sgt Shreesshanth of 29 (A) Bn NCC of the Tirupati Group who won the Best Cadet Trophy in the Junior Division category at RD Camp 2024 was also felicitated by the Chief Guest during the Ceremony.
NCC Group Tirupati has been in its current location in Tirupati since 1963. Various training activities which are vital part of the training schedule of the NCC are conducted by the various units of Tirupati Group. With no inherent accommodation for camp activity for cadets was always a challenge. To ameliorate this long-standing issue, a cadets accommodation in the premises of NCC Nagar was envisaged. The Bhoomi Pooja ceremony was attended by Col Yogesh Dungrakoti, Commander, NCC Group Tirupati, and the entire team of NCC Tirupati Group. The project is targeted for completion by mid-May before the main training cycle begins.
Air Commodore VM Reddy thanked Dr Ramachandra Naidu for gracing the event and for the magnanimous gesture. In his address the DDG emphasized the fact that the structure being constructed was not mere bricks and mortar and rather that it symbolized the collective dedication of the uniformed services and the civil society to the welfare of the nation’s youth and the unwavering belief in their potential to become leaders of tomorrow and the torchbearers of the values the NCC as an organisation holds so dear. He expressed his confidence in the belief that this groundbreaking ceremony also would lay the groundwork for a brighter future, where every cadet who passes through these doors emerges as a proud ambassador of the values the NCC holds so dear.
While referring to Dr Ramachandra Naidu Galla’s huge body of professional and philanthropic work the DDG highlighted the fact that Dr Naidu himself being an ex-cadet, a proud C Certificate holder and a participant of the Republic Day Camp, was a shining example of what values the NCC as an organization imparts to its cadets. The values imbibed by Dr Naidu were acknowledged by him in his address to the cadets.
