Jazz Band Performance – 08 Dec 24
Every year, the Indian Navy celebrates December 8 as Submarine Day, marking the commissioning of its first submarine, INS Kalvari, on this day in 1967. To commemorate this momentous occasion, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is organising a special Jazz Band performance at the Kursura Submarine Museum, Visakhapatnam on Sunday, December 8, 2024. The event will begin at 5:15 PM and promises to be a delightful evening of music and maritime heritage.
The celebration aims to engage the local populace and tourists visiting Visakhapatnam, particularly the youth, by offering them an opportunity to learn and appreciate the contributions of the Submarine Arm—the “Silent Arm” of the Indian Navy. The Navy Band will perform a selection of enchanting musical tracks, including popular Telugu movie songs, creating a perfect blend of culture and celebration.
Adding to the excitement, the Master of Ceremony will share intriguing trivia about the Submarine Arm, life onboard a submarine, and fascinating stories about the “Sharks of Steel” and the “Silent Guardians of our Seas.”
An open invitation is extended to all citizens of Visakhapatnam—the City of Destiny, to join us in celebrating the legacy of the Indian Navy’s Submarine Arm. Additional viewing space in the green lawns across the road will accommodate extra attendees, with arrangements of live relay of the event.
