A Seminar on ‘Transforming Conventional Missiles for Tomorrow’s War – Opportunities and Challenges’ was conducted at INS Kalinga on 26 Mar 21. Vice Adm Biswajit Dasgupta AVSM, YSM, VSM, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Naval Command was the Chief Guest of the seminar that had overwhelming participation by personnel from the Navy, DRDO and Defence Industries.

Opening address delivered by Cmde Neeraj Uday, Commanding Officer, INS Kalinga.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest with the unveiling of a Compendium of papers on the seminar topics. Delivering the inaugural address, Vice Adm Dasgupta highlighted the importance of delivery of ordnance on target, the role and criticality of missiles in the Navy’s arsenal, and the need to be self-reliant in the field of missile technology.
Eight papers on topics related to emerging missile technologies, uniformity and scalability and self-reliance in the field of missiles were presented by personnel from the Indian Navy and DRDO, involved in the design, production, maintenance and deployment of missiles. The Seminar enabled stakeholders to engage in dialogue on issues associated with missile development and maintenance, while also exploring the technological advancements in the world.
