GM, SOUTH COAST RAILWAY INSPECTS VISAKHAPATNAM–ICHCHAPURAM SECTION

In his first inspection after taking charge, General Manager, South Coast Railway, Shri Sandeep Mathur, conducted a detailed inspection of the Visakhapatnam–Ichchapuram section today. He reviewed infrastructure projects, passenger amenities, safety measures, and operational efficiency across the section.The inspection began at Simhachalam Railway Station, where Shri Sandeep Mathur reviewed the progress of works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He examined various development projects aimed at improving passenger facilities and station infrastructure.During the inspection, the General Manager also visited Kottavalasa, Srikakulam Road, Naupada, Palasa, and Ichchapuram Railway Stations. He reviewed the ongoing Amrit Bharat Station Scheme works, focusing on station redevelopment, passenger amenities, safety measures, and operational improvements. GM gave emphasis on the circulating area, Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), waiting halls, and other passenger facilities. He also interacted with officials and reviewed the progress of various development projects. GM stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and completing projects within the scheduled timeframe.General Manager further carried out a window trailing inspection from Ichchapuram to Visakhapatnam, during which he examined railway tracks, signalling systems, bridges, curves, Road Over Bridges (ROBs), station yards, and other railway assets, with special focus on safety and efficient train operations.During the visit, representatives of public associations and members of the media met the General Manager and submitted representations on various railway-related issues and development requirements. Shri Sandeep Mathur patiently heard their concerns and suggestions and assured them that the matters would be examined and addressed as per rules and operational feasibility.General Manager was accompanied by Principal Chief Engineer Shri BSK Rajkumar;, Principal Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer Shri OB Suresh Kumar, Principal Chief Operations Manager Shri Vineet Kumar; Chief Administrative Officer Shri Ankush Gupta, South Coast Railway and Divisional Railway Manager, Visakhapatnam Division, Shri Lalit Bohra.

విశాఖపట్నం పోర్ట్ కు ఎల్-2 గ్రీన్ పోర్ట్ గుర్తింప..విశాఖపట్నం పోర్ట్ అథారిటీ తన సుస్థిర అభివృద్ధి ప్రయాణంలో మరో కీలక మైలురాయిని చేరుకుంది. సెంటర్ ఆఫ్ ఎక్సలెన్స్ ఆన్ ESG & సర్క్యులారిటీ సంస్థ నుంచి ఎల్-2 గ్రీన్ పోర్ట్ గుర్తింపును పొందింది.పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ, సుస్థిర అభివృద్ధి, సామాజిక సంక్షేమం రంగాల్లో పోర్ట్ చేస్తున్న విశేష కృషికి తగిన గుర్తింపు లభించింది.గ్రీన్ పోర్ట్ సర్టిఫికేషన్ అనేది ఇంధన సామర్థ్య పెంపు, పునరుత్పాదక ఇంధన వినియోగం, వ్యర్థాల నిర్వహణ, కాలుష్య నియంత్రణ, సుస్థిర మౌలిక వసతుల అభివృద్ధి, ఉద్గారాల తగ్గింపు, పర్యావరణహిత సాంకేతికతల ప్రోత్సాహం వంటి అంశాల్లో విశిష్ట పనితీరు కనబరిచిన పోర్టులకు ప్రదానం చేస్తారు.పర్యావరణ పనితీరు, సుస్థిర అభివృద్ధి, సామాజిక బాధ్యత వంటి ప్రధాన అంశాల ఆధారంగా నిర్వహించిన మూల్యాంకనంలో వీపీఏ కఠిన ప్రమాణాలను విజయవంతంగా పూర్తి చేసింది.పోర్ట్ సాధించిన ప్రధాన విజయాల్లో, భారతదేశంలోని ప్రధాన పోర్టులలో పూర్తిగా సౌర విద్యుత్తుతో కార్యకలాపాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్న తొలి ప్రధాన పోర్టుగా నిలవడం విశేషం. 100 శాతం గ్రీన్ పవర్ వినియోగాన్ని సాధించింది. అలాగే పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణను మరింత బలోపేతం చేసేందుకు 2024-2027 మధ్య ఒక మిలియన్ మొక్కల నాటే కార్యక్రమాన్ని చేపట్టింది.పర్యావరణ నిర్వహణలో భాగంగా పోర్ట్ 10 ఎంఎల్డీ సామర్థ్యంతో కూడిన మురుగునీటి శుద్ధి కేంద్రం (STP), రెండు 400 కేఎల్డీ సామర్థ్యం గల ఎఫ్లూయెంట్ ట్రీట్మెంట్ ప్లాంట్లు (ETPs) నిర్వహిస్తోంది. శుద్ధి చేసిన నీటిని కార్గో యార్డులు, పోర్టు రహదారులలో దుమ్ము నియంత్రణ కోసం సమర్థవంతంగా వినియోగిస్తోంది.నగర డ్రైన్ల ద్వారా సముద్రంలోకి చేరే 1,398 మెట్రిక్ టన్నుల తేలియాడే వ్యర్థాలను సేకరించి తొలగించింది. రైల్వే కనెక్టివిటీలో 95 శాతం విద్యుదీకరణను పూర్తి చేసింది. గ్రీన్ పవర్ వినియోగం ద్వారా ప్రత్యామ్నాయ ఇంధన వనరులను ప్రోత్సహిస్తోంది.తీర ప్రాంత పరిరక్షణలో భాగంగా తీర కోతను అరికట్టేందుకు పోర్ట్ ప్రతి సంవత్సరం సుమారు రూ.20 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో బీచ్ నరిష్‌మెంట్ కార్యక్రమాన్ని అమలు చేస్తోంది. అలాగే షోర్-టు-షిప్ పవర్ సప్లై వ్యవస్థలు, బెర్త్‌ల ఆధునీకరణ, దుమ్ము ఉద్గారాలు తగ్గించే కవర్డ్ స్టోరేజ్ షెడ్ల నిర్మాణం వంటి చర్యల ద్వారా ఉద్గారాల తగ్గింపుకు కృషి చేస్తోంది.సామాజిక బాధ్యత కార్యక్రమాల అమలులోనూ పోర్ట్ విశిష్టత కనబరుస్తూ నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి, ఆరోగ్య ప్రోత్సాహం రంగాల్లో ప్రతిష్టాత్మక CSR అవార్డులను అందుకుంది. విజయవాడ వరద బాధితుల సహాయార్థం ముఖ్యమంత్రి సహాయ నిధికి రూ.1 కోటి విరాళం అందించింది.అలాగే విద్య, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి, ఆరోగ్య సంరక్షణ, సామాజిక సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాల కోసం రూ.7.23 కోట్ల CSR నిధులను మంజూరు చేయగా, అందులో రూ.4.31 కోట్లను ఇప్పటికే విడుదల చేసింది.పోర్ట్ చేపట్టిన సుస్థిరత చర్యలు, పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ కార్యక్రమాలను స్వతంత్రంగా పరిశీలించిన అనంతరం సెంటర్ ఆఫ్ ఎక్సలెన్స్ ఆన్ ESG & సర్క్యులారిటీ సంస్థ గ్రీన్ పోర్ట్ సర్టిఫికేట్ ఆఫ్ అక్రెడిటేషన్ (ఎల్-2) ను ప్రదానం చేసింది. ఈ గుర్తింపు ద్వారా పర్యావరణహిత, సుస్థిర పోర్టు కార్యకలాపాల్లో విశాఖపట్నం పోర్ట్ దేశంలోనే అగ్రగామిగా నిలిచింది.
