విశాఖలో మార్చి 29న ఘనంగా వేడుకలు – భవిష్యత్తు లక్ష్యం రూ. 3,000 కోట్ల టర్నోవర్ భారతదేశ సముద్ర తీర మౌలిక సదుపాయాల అభివృద్ధిలో అగ్రగామిగా నిలిచిన డ్రెడ్జింగ్ కార్పొరేషన్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా లిమిటెడ్ (DCIL) తన ప్రస్థానంలో మరో మైలురాయిని చేరుకుంది. సంస్థ స్థాపించి 50 ఏళ్లు పూర్తయిన సందర్భంగా ఈ నెల 29న (ఆదివారం) విశాఖపట్నంలోని నోవాటెల్ హోటల్లో ‘గోల్డెన్ జూబ్లీ’ వేడుకలను ఘనంగా నిర్వహించనున్నట్లు సంస్థ సీఈఓ మరియు మేనేజింగ్ డైరెక్టర్ కెప్టెన్ ఎస్. దివాకర్ వెల్లడించారు.
శుక్రవారం సంస్థ కార్యాలయంలో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన మీడియా సమావేశంలో ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ 1976 మార్చి 29న కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ రంగ సంస్థగా కేవలం 8 డ్రెడ్జర్లతో ప్రారంభమైన DCIL, నేడు 21 అత్యాధునిక నౌకలతో దేశ నిర్మాణంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తోంది. ఒకప్పుడు 3,500 క్యూబిక్ మీటర్ల హాపర్ సామర్థ్యం ఉన్న సంస్థ, నేడు దానిని 12,000 క్యూబిక్ మీటర్లకు పెంచుకుంది. డ్రెడ్జింగ్ లోతును కూడా 15 మీటర్ల నుండి 35 మీటర్లకు పెంచి అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాలను అందుకుందని అన్నారు. గతంలో రూ. 150-200 కోట్ల ఆదాయానికే పరిమితమైన సంస్థ, ప్రస్తుతం రూ. 1,146 కోట్ల టర్నోవర్తో రికార్డు సృష్టించింది. కేవలం భారత్లోనే కాకుండా సౌదీ అరేబియా, బహ్రెయిన్, తైవాన్, శ్రీలంక మరియు బంగ్లాదేశ్ వంటి దేశాల్లో విజయవంతంగా ప్రాజెక్టులను పూర్తి చేసి అంతర్జాతీయ స్థాయిలో గుర్తింపు పొందిందని వచ్చే 5 నుండి 10 ఏళ్లలో టర్నోవర్ను రూ. 3,000 కోట్లకు పెంచడమే లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకున్నట్లు కెప్టెన్ దివాకర్ తెలిపారు. అంతేకాకుండా విదేశీ డ్రెడ్జర్లపై ఆధారపడకుండా, కోచిన్ మరియు హిందుస్థాన్ షిప్యార్డ్ల సహకారంతో దేశీయంగానే డ్రెడ్జర్లను తయారు చేయాలని సంస్థ నిర్ణయించింది. అలాగే, సిబ్బందికి అత్యాధునిక శిక్షణ ఇచ్చేందుకు ఇండియన్ మారిటైమ్ యూనివర్సిటీతో కలిసి సిమ్యులేటర్ ఆధారిత శిక్షణను ప్రారంభించనున్నామన్నారు. అదేవిధంగా సంస్థపై ఉన్న వడ్డీ భారాన్ని తగ్గించుకోవడానికి రూ. 1,000 కోట్ల రైట్స్ ఇష్యూ ద్వారా నిధుల సమీకరణకు యోచిస్తోంది. పాత నౌకలను ఆధునీకరించడం మరియు పనితీరును 10-15% పెంచడం ద్వారా లాభదాయకతను మరింత మెరుగుపరచాలని ప్రణాళికలు రూపొందించామని ఆయన వెల్లడించారు
