DRDO SCIENTISTS INTERACTION PROGRAMME (DSIP) AT EASTERN NAVAL COMMAND

40 scientists from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), undergoing the DRDO Scientists Interaction Programme (DSIP) with the Indian Navy from 04 to 14 May 2026, arrived at Visakhapatnam on 07 May 2026.

At Eastern Naval Command, the team was briefed on the Command’s Operational role and responsibilities during an interactive session presided by the Flag Officer Submarines (FOSM).

Over the course of the next few days, the scientists will be conducted for a tour to IN ships and aircraft, as also to various training and support facilities to gain an in-depth understanding of the operational requirements and capabilities of the Indian Navy.

The programme is aimed at fostering closer collaboration and enhanced understanding between the Indian Navy and DRDO towards strengthening indigenous defence research and capability development.
