HSL Observes International Day of Yoga 2026 with Enthusiastic Participation

Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) observed International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21 June 2026 with enthusiastic participation of employees at its premises, joining nationwide celebrations in line with this year’s theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” which promotes yoga as a lifelong practice for physical fitness, mental well-being and emotional balance.

Capt. Ganti Venkateswarlu (IN Retd.), C&MD-AC, HSL, encouraged employees to adopt yoga as a daily practice for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and well-being.

Continuing the week-long 86th Foundation Day celebrations focused on process improvement, production efficiency, technology adoption and employee well-being, senior management along with union representatives today paid floral tributes to HSL founder Seth Walchand Hirachand, remembering his pioneering contribution to India’s shipbuilding industry and nation building.

HSL remains committed to organizational excellence and promoting employee well-being in its continued contribution to nation building.

Vizag Vision Visakhapatnam:On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Balaram Naidu and his diving team performed Underwater Diving Yoga at Visakhapatnam Harbour.The unique activity highlighted the importance of breath control, balance, focus and discipline—core values of yoga and scuba diving.Balaram Naidu said, “Underwater yoga is a message of harmony with nature. Along with a healthy mind and body, we must also protect our oceans and marine life.”The programme promoted yoga, water safety, adventure sports and ocean conservation.

Vizagvision Visakhapatnam : SOUTH COAST RAILWAY CELEBRATES 12th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA AT VISAKHAPATNAMSouth Coast Railway celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and fervour at Visakhapatnam today. The event assumed special significance as it marked the first International Yoga Day celebration of the newly formed South Coast Railway, bringing together employees from all branches and units of the Zone.The programme was led by General Manager, South Coast Railway, Shri Sandeep Mathur, and President, South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (SCoRWWO), Smt. Charu Mathur. Principal Heads of Departments, officers, members of SCoRWWO, trade union representatives, employees, Scouts & Guides cadets and media personnel participated in large numbers.Addressing the gathering, Shri Sandeep Mathur highlighted that the International Day of Yoga, envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, has grown into a global movement promoting holistic health and well-being.Referring to the theme of International Day of Yoga 2026, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” General Manager emphasized that Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a way of life that promotes physical fitness, mental peace, emotional balance and healthy longevity. He stated that for the railway family, which works round the clock in service of the nation, Yoga serves as a powerful tool for maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being and emotional resilience, thereby contributing to safer, more efficient and productive railway operations.Mathur recalled with pride the historic achievement of India in creating a Guinness World Record during last year’s International Day of Yoga celebrations at Visakhapatnam in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Inspired by this achievement, he expressed confidence that India would continue to achieve greater milestones and further strengthen its position as the global ambassador of Yoga and holistic well-being.Encouraging employees to integrate Yoga into their daily routine, Shri Mathur advocated the adoption of the 5-Minute Y-Break Protocol, comprising simple Yoga practices designed specifically for employees to promote wellness during working hours.
