HomeUncategorizedVizagvision Visakhapatnam:SOUTH COAST RAILWAY ORGANISES VIGILANCE SEMINAR TO PROMOTE INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY…South Coast Railway organised a Vigilance Seminar today at its Headquarters, with the participation of Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs), Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) and Senior Officers from various departments across the Zone. The seminar was chaired by Shri Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, South Coast Railway.Shri Ashish Mehrothra, SDGM & Chief Vigilance Officer, South Coast Railway, conducted the proceedings and highlighted the importance of vigilance awareness in strengthening transparency, accountability and integrity in the organisation.The seminar focused on various provisions and guidelines laid down by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and the Railway Vigilance Department aimed at preventing and combating corruption in public life and promoting ethical conduct in public service.Addressing the gathering, Shri Sandeep Mathur, General Manager, SCoR, emphasised that awareness is the basic requirement for effectively containing corruption in an organisation. He stressed the need for all officials and employees to remain alert, follow established procedures and uphold the highest standards of integrity in the discharge of their duties.The General Manager also appreciated the role of the Vigilance Department for playing a supportive role as a counsellor and guide, helping officers and staff understand procedures and avoid inadvertent lapses.Shri Ashish Mehrothra, SDGM & Chief Vigilance Officer, stressed that every individual has an important role in promoting an ethical work culture. He stated that it is essential for everyone to be self-conscious and committed to following the path of integrity and honesty in both personal and professional life.Special emphasis was laid on creating awareness among job aspirants that recruitment to Indian Railways is conducted only through the authorised Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) as per prescribed procedures. It was reiterated that there are no shortcuts or backdoor methods to secure a Railway job. Aspirants were cautioned against falling prey to touts, intermediaries or fraudulent persons promising Railway jobs in exchange for money.
