EASTERN NAVAL COMMAND PAYS TRIBUTE TO KARGIL HEROES ON THE 27th KARGIL VIJAY Diwas On the solemn occasion of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) conducted a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the iconic ‘Victory at Sea’ War Memorial, RK Beach, Visakhapatnam, to honour the courage, valour and supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War (Operation Vijay).

The ceremony was led by Vice Admiral Susheel Menon, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, who laid a floral wreath at the War Memorial. Col V Samuel Prakash and Group Capt P Shyam Kumar from Army and Air Force also paid their respects to the fallen heroes.

A ceremonial 50-member Guard was paraded at the venue, followed by the observance of a two-minute silence in memory of the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.

Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorates India’s historic victory in Operation Vijay and serves as a reminder of the unwavering courage, indomitable spirit and selfless devotion to duty displayed by the Armed Forces during the Kargil conflict. The day reinforces the nation’s enduring gratitude towards its soldiers and inspires future generations to uphold the ideals of patriotism and national service.

The Eastern Naval Command remains steadfast in honouring the legacy of India’s fallen heroes and reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests with Duty, Honour and Courage.
