Bharat Scouts & Guides Launch Week-long Awareness Campaign on On-board Cleanliness, Fire Safety and Prevention of Ticketless Travel The Bharat Scouts & Guides wing of Visakhapatnam Division, South Coast Railway, launched a week-long awareness campaign on On-board Cleanliness, Prevention of Ticketless Travelling and Fire Safety in Trains from 13th June to 21st June 2026. The campaign aims to promote responsible travel practices among railway passengers and enhance awareness regarding safety and cleanliness during train journeys.

As part of the launch programme, posters and pamphlets highlighting the key messages of the campaign were unveiled by Shri Lalit Bohra, President, Bharat Scouts & Guides and Divisional Railway Manager, Visakhapatnam Division. The programme was held in the presence of Shri K. Rama Rao, District Chief Commissioner and ADRM (Operations), Visakhapatnam; Shri Deeptanshu Sharma, Vice President and Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer, Visakhapatnam; Shri Rajeev Kumar, District Commissioner (Scouts) and Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination); Dr. D. Bhashini Priyanka, District Commissioner (Guides) and DMO (Gynic), Divisional Railway Hospital/Visakhapatnam, along with other office bearers, Scouts, Guides and members of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Visakhapatnam District.

The awareness drive will focus on educating passengers about maintaining cleanliness inside trains and railway premises, using dustbins for waste disposal, avoiding littering, and supporting Indian Railways’ efforts towards a cleaner travel environment. The campaign will also emphasize the importance of travelling with valid tickets, adhering to railway rules and regulations, and discouraging ticketless travel,. The campaign also includes awareness on prohibition of smoking on trains, emergency response measures and safety precautions to be followed during train journeys.

As a special highlight of the campaign, a Flash Mob programme conveying messages on cleanliness, safety and responsible travel will be organised on 21st June 2026 at 17:00 hrs at Visakhapatnam Railway Station.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Lalit Bohra appreciated the efforts of the Bharat Scouts & Guides and emphasized the vital role of public participation in maintaining cleanliness, ensuring safety and promoting lawful travel on Indian Railways.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitmentto further deepening bilateral defence ties based on mutual trust, shared interests, and a commoన vision for a secure, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.The SCMC serves as the principal military-to-military consultative mechanism between the two countries and is the precursor to the India-Malaysia Defence Cooperation Meeting held at thelevel of Defence Secretary.
