శబరిమల అయ్యప్పస్వామి మండలం మరియు మకర జ్యోతి దర్శనం విశేషాలు Vizag Vision అయ్యప్ప స్వామి హిందూ దేవతలలో ఒకరు. ఈయనను హరిహరసుతుడని, ధర్మశాస్త, మణికంఠుడని కూడా పిలుస్తారు. అయ్యప్ప పూజా సాంప్రదాయం అధికంగా దక్షిణ భారతదేశంలో ఉంది. అయ్య (= విష్ణువు), అప్ప (= శివుడు) అని పేర్ల సంగమంతో ‘అయ్యప్ప’ నామం పుట్టింది. మహిషి అనే రాక్షసిని చంపి అయ్యప్ప శబరిమలైలో వెలిశాడు. కేరళలోని శబరిమలై హిందువుల ప్రధాన యాత్రా స్థలాలలో ఒకటి. శబరిమలైలో అయ్యప్పను బ్రహ్మచారిగా పూజిస్తారు. శబరిమలైలోని ప్రధాన దేవాలయమే కాకుండా అనేక దేవాలయాలున్నాయి. కేరళలోనే కుళతుపుళలో ఇతనిని బాలుని రూపంలో అర్చిస్తారు. అచ్చన్ కోవిల్లో పుష్కల, పూర్ణ అనే దేవేరులసమేతుడైన అయ్యప్పను పూజిస్తారు. శబరిమలైలోని అయ్యప్ప సన్నిధికి యేటా ఐదుకోట్లమంది భక్తులు దర్శనార్ధులై వెళుతుంటారు,,
దీక్ష స్వీకరించి నియమాలతో మండలం గడిపిన భక్తులు శబరిమలై యాత్ర చేస్తారు. ఈ దీక్ష స్వామి సన్నిధాన సందర్శనంతో ముగుస్తుంది. శబరిమల కేరళలోని పత్తినంతిట్ట జిల్లాలో పశ్చిమ కనుమల్లో సహ్యాద్రి పర్వత శ్రేణుల ప్రాంతం క్రిందకు వస్తుంది. గుడి సముద్ర మట్టం నుంచి సుమారు 3000 అడుగుల ఎత్తులో దట్టమైన అడవులు, 18 కొండల మధ్య కేంద్రీకృతమై ఉంటుంది.ఇక్కడికి యాత్రలు నవంబరు నెలలో ప్రారంభమై జనవరి నెలలో ముగుస్తాయి. మండల పూజ (నవంబరు 17), మకరవిళక్కు (జనవరి 14) ఈ యాత్రలో ప్రధాన ఘట్టాలు. జనవరి 14 వ రోజును ఆలయంలో మకర జ్యోతి దర్శన మిస్తుంది. మిగతా అన్ని రోజుల్లోనూ గుడిని మూసే ఉంచుతారు. కానీ ప్రతీ మలయాళ నెలలో ఐదు రోజుల పాటు తెరచియుంచుతారు.

సంక్రాంతి అనగానే హిందూ భక్తులు చాలా మందికి శబరిమల ఆలయం ప్రముఖంగా గుర్తొస్తుంది. శబరిమలలో సంక్రాంతి రోజున ‘మకర జ్యోతి’ని వీక్షించటానికి వేలాది భక్తులు పోటెత్తుతారు.

సంక్రాంతి రోజున సాయం సమయంలో ‘‘కనిపించే’’ మకరజ్యోతిని చూశాక అయ్యప్ప మాలధారులు దీక్ష విరమిస్తారు. అయ్యప్పస్వామి స్వయంగా ‘మకర జ్యోతి’ రూపంలో కనిపిస్తారన్నది వారి విశ్వాసం.

మకర జ్యోతి అనేది ఏటా జనవరి 14న మకర సంక్రాంతి రోజున సాయంత్రం ఆకాశంలో కనిపించే నక్షత్రం. ఇది కేరళ రాష్ట్రంలోని శబరిమలకు ఎదురుగా ఉన్న కందమల శిఖరంపై కనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ నక్షత్రాన్ని చూసేందుకు భక్తులు ఏటా 41 రోజులు ఉపవాస దీక్ష చేసి శబరిమలకు వెళ్తారు. ప్రస్తుతం నక్షత్రం లాంతరులా కనిపిస్తోందని ప్రజలు అంటున్నారు. తన భక్తులను ఆశీర్వదించడానికి అయ్యప్ప స్వామి మకర జ్యోతిగా దర్శనమిస్తాడని నమ్ముతారు.
