REVIEWS WORKSITE SAFETY AND ASSET FAILURE ACROSS SOUTH COAST RAILWAY
General Manager, South Coast Railway, Shri Sandeep Mathur, today chaired a comprehensive safety review meeting with Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs) and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all four divisions to assess the Zone’s safety performance with focus on worksite safety, asset failures and operational efficiency.
The meeting focused on strengthening worksite safety, preventing asset failures, and further improving train punctuality across the Zone. The General Manager emphasized that safety remains the foremost p
riority of Indian Railways and called upon all departments to maintain the highest standards of vigilance and adherence to established safety procedures.
Reviewing worksite safety, Shri Sandeep Mathur stressed the importance of careful planning and strict compliance with safety protocols during maintenance and infrastructure works. He directed officials to ensure adequate protection at worksites, proper supervision of field activities, and continuous monitoring to eliminate unsafe practices and safeguard both railway personnel and train operations.
General Manager also reviewed the status of critical railway assets and instructed officials to adopt a proactive approach towards preventive maintenance to minimize asset failures and enhance the reliability of railway infrastructure and rolling stock. During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on improving train punctuality with proper operational planning, close coordination among departments.

The award acknowledges PM Modi’s long-standing push for sustainable growth and his green vision.
This is the latest in a series of global honours recognising PM Modi’s work on climate action, sustainable development and green growth.
Just last month, in May 2026, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) presented him with the Agricola Medal for strengthening food security, transforming agriculture and promoting sustainable farming.
Earlier, in 2018, he received the Seoul Peace Prize for advancing sustainable economic growth, global cooperation and inclusive development.

అనకాపల్లి జిల్లా,పరవాడ మండలం, తానాం గ్రామం : గ్రామీణ ప్రజలకు నాణ్యమైన నేత్ర వైద్య సేవలను చేరువ చేయాలనే లక్ష్యంతో ప్రముఖ బహుళజాతి ఔషధ, జీవసాంకేతిక సంస్థ ఫైజర్ హెల్త్కేర్ ఇండియా ప్రైవేట్ లిమిటెడ్, తన కార్పొరేట్ సామాజిక బాధ్యత (CSR) కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా, శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్ సహకారంతో శుక్రవారం (జూన్ 26, 2026) తానాం గ్రామంలోని సామాజిక భవనం ప్రాంగణంలో సమగ్ర ఉచిత కంటి వైద్య పరీక్షా శిబిరాన్ని నిర్వహించింది. ఈ సందర్భంగా శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్ డీజీఎం – ప్రజా సంబంధాలు, అనుసంధానం & కార్పొరేట్ సంబంధాల విభాగంకు చెందిన కె. బంగార్రాజు మాట్లాడుతూ, ఈ ఉచిత కంటి వైద్య శిబిరానికి స్థానిక ప్రజలతో పాటు పరిసర గ్రామాల నుంచి కూడా విశేష స్పందన లభించిందని తెలిపారు.
ఫైజర్ హెల్త్కేర్ ఇండియా ప్రైవేట్ లిమిటెడ్ విశాఖపట్నం యూనిట్ అధిపతి శ్రీ రవి చందర్ కట్ట ఈ ఉచిత కంటి వైద్య శిబిరాన్ని ప్రారంభించి మాట్లాడారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఫైజర్ విశాఖపట్నం యూనిట్ అధిపతి శ్రీ రవి చందర్ కట్ట మాట్లాడుతూ, శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్తో భాగస్వామ్యంగా ఈ ఉచిత కంటి వైద్య శిబిరాన్ని నిర్వహించడం పట్ల సంతోషం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంత ప్రజలకు నాణ్యమైన నేత్ర వైద్య సేవలను చేరువ చేయడంలో శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్ అందిస్తున్న సేవలను ఆయన ప్రశంసించారు. ఇలాంటి సేవా కార్యక్రమాల ద్వారా మరింత మంది ప్రజలకు ప్రయోజనం చేకూర్చేందుకు భవిష్యత్తులో కూడా శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్తో తమ భాగస్వామ్యాన్ని కొనసాగించాలని ఫైజర్ సంస్థ కట్టుబడి ఉందని తెలిపారు. అనంతరం ఫైజర్ అధికారులు శిబిరాన్ని సందర్శించి, వైద్య సేవల నిర్వహణ, రోగులకు అందించిన సౌకర్యాలను పరిశీలించారు. ఈ శిబిరాన్ని సమర్థవంతంగా నిర్వహించినందుకు శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్ వైద్య బృందం, నిర్వాహకులను అభినందించారు. సమాజ ఆరోగ్య పరిరక్షణకు కార్పొరేట్ సామాజిక బాధ్యత (CSR) కార్యక్రమాలు ఎంతగానో దోహదపడతాయని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.

కంటి వైద్య శిబిరం యొక్క ముఖ్యాంశాలు: తానాం గ్రామంతో పాటు సమీప గ్రామాల నుంచి పెద్ద సంఖ్యలో ప్రజలు ఈ ఉచిత కంటి వైద్య శిబిరానికి హాజరై కంటి పరీక్షలు చేయించుకున్నారు. గ్రామీణ ప్రజల నుంచి విశేష స్పందన లభించడంతో శిబిరం విజయవంతంగా కొనసాగింది. అర్హులైన రోగులను తదుపరి చికిత్సలు, అవసరమైన శస్త్రచికిత్సల కోసం శంకర్ ఫౌండేషన్కు రిఫర్ చేసినట్లు నిర్వాహకులు తెలిపారు.

National Recognition for Visakhapatnam Division: ELS and DLS Secure Second Prize at All India Level
The Electric Loco Shed (ELS) and Diesel Loco Shed (DLS), Visakhapatnam, under VISAKHAPATNAM Division of South Coast Railway, have earned national recognition by securing Second Prize in the categories of “All India Best Loco Shed Homing Electric Coaching Locomotives” and “Best Diesel Shed Homing Electric Locomotives”, respectively.
The awards were conferred for outstanding performance in achieving high locomotive availability, reducing failures, and ensuring efficient maintenance with optimum manpower utilization. The awards were presented by the Member Traction Rolling Stock (MTRS), Railway Board, during the 43rd MSG (Loco) Meeting held at CLW/Chittaranjan on 20 June 2026.
On 24 June 2026, Shri Lalit Bohra, DRM/VSKP, congratulated Shri B. Shanmukha Rao, Sr. DEE/TRS/VSKP, Shri Shubham Saini, DEE/TRS/VSKP, Shri Manoj Kumar Sahu, Sr.DME/DLS, Sri V. He appreciated their dedication and teamwork, which have brought pride and recognition to Visakhapatnam Division at the national level.
HSL Observes International Day of Yoga 2026 with Enthusiastic Participation
Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) observed International Day of Yoga 2026 on 21 June 2026 with enthusiastic participation of employees at its premises, joining nationwide celebrations in line with this year’s theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” which promotes yoga as a lifelong practice for physical fitness, mental well-being and emotional balance.
Capt. Ganti Venkateswarlu (IN Retd.), C&MD-AC, HSL, encouraged employees to adopt yoga as a daily practice for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and well-being.
Continuing the week-long 86th Foundation Day celebrations focused on process improvement, production efficiency, technology adoption and employee well-being, senior management along with union representatives today paid floral tributes to HSL founder Seth Walchand Hirachand, remembering his pioneering contribution to India’s shipbuilding industry and nation building.
