SOUTH COAST RAILWAY WOMEN’S WELFARE ORGANISATION ORGANISES ESSAY COMPETITION FOR WARDS OF RAILWAY EMPLOYEES

The South Coast Railway Zonal Women’s Welfare Organisation (SCoRWWO), Visakhapatnam, organised an Essay Competition for the wards of Railway employees today, 13 September 2026, at the Railway Officers’ Club, Visakhapatnam.

Smt. Charu Mathur, President, South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, personally monitored the conduct of the competition and encouraged the participating children.

The competition was organised in three age groups, with topics being given on the spot according to the respective age categories. The initiative was aimed at promoting the habit of book reading, healthy competition, creative expression and enthusiasm among children and youth towards general concepts and contemporary issues.

The topics for the respective age groups were:
Group-I: 6 to 9 years

 Healthy Food
 My Class Teacher

Group-II: 10 to 12 years
 Importance of Recreation Activities
 Joint Family or Nuclear Family

Group-III: 13 to 15 years
 High Population of the Country: Boon or Curse
 Gen-Z

More than 50 children participated in the each age category in the Essay Competition. The participants enthusiastically expressed their thoughts, ideas and perspectives on the topics allotted to them.

Smt. Anju Gupta, Secretary; Smt. Swarnalatha, Treasurer; and other Executive Members of the South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation were also present on the occasion and encouraged the participating children.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were presented with certificates and prizes in recognition of their performance by President Smt Charu Mathur.
The South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation continues to undertake various initiatives aimed at the holistic development, welfare and overall well-being of Railway employees and their families.
